Introducing Two Workshops this April
Join me in April for one of two great workshops focusing on Community and Change Work.
As April fast approaches, I want to take a moment to share a couple of online workshops I’m very excited to be running with next month with my co-creator at Art Nature Place, Mike Murawski.
Join Us for the “Making Change Happen” Workshop on April 3!
Change is a constant – yet how do we learn to not just respond to this change, but become shapers of it? How might we see ourselves as strong advocates for positive change, especially with regards to advancing inclusion and accessibility in our work?
This spring, we’ve launched Making Change Happen, as a 2-hour long introductory workshop held through Zoom for professionals and graduate students that that’s an engaging, hands-on look at how to be an effective change maker in your work.
In the workshop, we’ll identify specific change goals, learn practical strategies for making steps for change, and learn how to expand our sphere of influence in strategic ways to move towards collective action.
Plus, you’ll get a fun workbook beforehand to use during the workshop —for notes, exercises, and post-workshop reflection.
We are running this workshop a few times this spring, and the next event date is this next Wednesday, April 3.
Registration is $49. But if you are a student, you should use the code STUDENT to register at discounted rate of $39.
Join us for Community-Centered Engagement Spring Intensive!
I’m so excited to share the details of our larger workshop, the Spring Intensive for Community-Centered Engagement, which is a 3-part workshop where we will dive deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies at your organization.
During a series of three interactive, discussion-based online workshops (held on Zoom), we are going to:
learn about the difference between an asset-based approach and a needs-based approach to community involvement and participation
examine models of community involvement, audience participation, and co-creation, understanding how these models can help guide a community-centered practice
engage in group working sessions geared to applying community-centered strategies to your organization
develop strategies and actions that can be implemented as part of your institution’s ongoing planning and programming
Registration is capped at around 20 and since launching it a few weeks back it’s been filling fast - it’s already about 3/4 filled up.
The Intensive is designed to serve the needs of anyone working on community involvement and engagement at their work. It’s an especially great workshop for education and visitors services staff in nature nonprofits and museums.
Workshop Dates and Times:
Wednesday, 4/10, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 4/17, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
Wednesday, 4/24, 2-4 pm Eastern (11 am-1 pm Pacific)
You'll receive a Zoom link and follow up details shortly after you sign up.
We are really excited to be bringing together an incredible group for this first-ever Community-Centered Engagement Intensive.
